Värmland Football Association enters into a new partnership with PlayWellMinds
The Värmland Football Association is launching a new partnership with PlayWellMinds to boost the mental health and development of young soccer players.
Värmland Football Association Becomes the First Football District to Offer Mental Training to All Its Clubs
Värmland Football Association and PlayWellMinds are entering a partnership that makes it easy for the district’s clubs to train mental strength with their young players. Värmland is the first football district in Sweden to do so.
Young players train technique, fitness and tactics every week. The mental side, such as handling pressure, setbacks, nerves and focus, is often left to chance. Värmland FA and PlayWellMinds want to change that.
Through the partnership, clubs in Värmland receive an exclusive offer that includes digital coach education in mental training and the PlayWellMinds app for their players.
Richard Morero, Football and Club Development Manager, Värmland Football Association:
“We want our clubs in Värmland to be able to work with the mental side as naturally as with everything else in training. It’s especially exciting that Värmland gets to lead the way among the football districts, and I believe more will want to follow.”
Johan Fallby, Co-Founder and Senior Advisor in Sport Psychology, PlayWellMinds:
“Mental strength can be trained, just like physical fitness. The earlier young players get tools to handle pressure, setbacks and thoughts, the better equipped they are, both on the pitch and in life beyond it. With coaches as ambassadors, it can become a natural part of everyday club life.”
Henrik Croneback, Founder and CEO, PlayWellMinds:
“This is the first time a football district has taken a unified approach to mental training for its clubs, and that says a lot about Värmland. Our ambition is for it to be just as natural for a 14-year-old to train their mental strength as their fitness. Now we can show that it works across an entire district.”
