Ettanfotboll and PlaywellMinds launch partnership

Mental strength is becoming an increasingly important concept, not least within youth sports. Therefore, Ettanfotboll has chosen to enter into a partnership with PlayWellMinds, which works with proactive mental training specifically for young people. First to be certified are five pilot clubs in Ettan.

PlayWellMinds provides a structured program and a unique app that helps young people build focus, self-esteem, and resilience.

Through this partnership, all players aged 13–19 in the Ettan clubs receive access to tools that strengthen their mental skills and contribute to preventing mental illness. PlaywellMinds also ensures that every club is trained in how to use the app – both to support players in their individual development and to enable the clubs as a whole to create even safer and more inclusive environments for the young people who play football in Ettanfotboll's clubs every week.

– We are very pleased to initiate a partnership with PlayWellMinds. Since the beginning of 2025, Ettanfotboll has worked purposefully to strengthen safety within our sports environments by increasing knowledge about mental illness. Now we are taking the next step by also focusing on developing the mental strength of the players, says Jimmy Fors, Operations Manager at Ettanfotboll.

PlayWellMinds was born out of a conviction that we must do more – and better – for our youth. Our vision is clear: a future where teenagers are mentally strong, happy, and equipped for everything life has to offer.

– We help young people learn what mental strength is and educate them over time, with repetition in a fun and inspiring way that includes programs, lectures, and an app, says Henrik Cronebäck, founder of PlayWellMinds.

PlayWellMinds' seven-step program is based on research in mental strength and is built, among other things, on CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy within psychology), which helps you become aware of thought patterns that can cause problems in your life. It is based on seeing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
